We have been instructed by Mr. George Gave and our client Charles Paull of 10 Redfield Road in this city to write to you on their behalf relative to the circumstances under which they joined the Hong Kong Police Force on the 5th September 1882, and served for over a period of 10 years, which under the Hong Kong Police Regulations, a copy of which we beg to enclose you, entitled them to pension.
John Gave, No. 4, is now entitled to the pension of $10 per month. This pension has been varied by the Police authorities at Hong Kong, where he is tendered 1/3rd only.
As regards PC. Charles Paull, No. 63, who is entitled to a pension of £27.10.0, he has been tendered the sum of £13.15.0.
We are requested by our clients to enquire of you as to why their pension has been varied and to aid them in the matter.
We beg to enclose Certificates showing that Gave and Paull were on the 26th January 1893. We are awaiting your reply.
